| Description: | On Friday, April 10, 2009 at approximately 1:58 pm, a man wearing a dark hoodie and brandishing a silver object, believed to be a weapon, entered the Heartland Bank, 130 N. Wilson Road, Columbus, and boldly marched directly to a teller and loudly demanded money. The robber looked around at startled employees and yelled for them to get off their computers and put down the phones. The teller complied and handed the robber money from her drawer. The robber leaned in, saw the dye-pack and some additional money still in the drawer, and demanded that too. The teller gave the robber the rest of the cash and the dye-pack, and the man stormed out of the bank, glaring at employees as he exited. Once outside, the man ran westbound towards an apartment complex where witnesses saw the dye-pack explode, causing the man to drop almost all of the money. The robber disappeared out of the area before police arrived. The robber was described as a black male, approximately 30's-40's of age, 5'11; stocky build, close-cropped beard and moustache, wearing a dark blue hoodie, dark pants, and dark gloves. |
