On October 5, 2019 at 11:48 a.m., a white male entered the Huntington Bank and approached a teller station and after a brief money exchange with a teller, handed the teller a note demanding money. The man was holding a plastic bag in his hands during the encounter, and became impatient with the teller and left the bank without receiving any additional money. The would-be robber was last seen leaving the bank on a lime green mountain bike southbound on N. High St towards downtown. The man was describe as a male, white, 5’8 to 5’10, 150-170 lbs., in his 30’s to 40’s, bald, scruffy beard, wearing a black hoody and blue jeans. Update – the attempted robber has been identified as James J. McCloy II.

The Public Eyes organization pays rewards to individuals who provide tip information leading to the identification and arrest of the person or persons responsible for committing central Ohio bank robberies.
